Can you trust fluoride?

Topical fluoride strengthens enamel and reduces the risk of cavities. For patients susceptible to decay, the ADA recommends professionally applied varnish. This is also a preferred treatment for children under 6.

Is SDF “approved” for cavities?

Will SDF stain my tooth?

What is a Preventive Resin Restoration?

A PRR is a conservative treatment for early decay in the grooves of a molar or premolar. We gently clean out the softened spot (if present) and seal the area with a tooth-colored resin so bacteria and food can’t get back in. It’s recommended when a simple sealant isn’t quite enough, but a full filling would remove more healthy tooth than necessary. Most PRRs are quick, typically require little to no anesthesia, and feel natural right away.
